Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Abuja on Sunday for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to participate in the Joint Arab-Islamic Summit focused on addressing the current Middle East crisis.
The summit will begin today, November 11, 2024, in response to an invitation from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, following a similar gathering in Riyadh last year.
At the summit, Tinubu is expected to address the escalating Israel-Palestine conflict, underscoring Nigeria’s firm stance for an immediate ceasefire and highlighting the pressing need for a peaceful resolution.
Nigeria will also advocate for renewed efforts toward a two-state solution as a sustainable path to peace in the region.

Accompanying the former Lagos State governor will be key officials, including Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar, National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Information and National Orientation Minister Alhaji Mohammed Idris, and National Intelligence Agency Director-General Amb. Mohammed Mohammed.
Tinubu will return to Abuja upon the summit’s conclusion.
