Tinubu’s Wife Remi, Distributes 1,200 Bags of Rice to Anambra Women

Oluremi Tinubu, has distributed 1,200 25kg bags of rice to rural women, the vulnerable, and the less privileged in Anambra State to help ease the impact of economic hardship.

Represented by Nonye Soludo, the wife of the Anambra State Governor, Mrs. Tinubu handed out the rice under the Renewed Hope Initiative on Thursday in Awka.

She explained that the initiative is designed to provide relief to those most affected by the current economic challenges in the country.

“The government recognises the effects of the current, and this is part of efforts to cushion the effects. We urge Nigerians to continue to support and pray for the government as it strives to make life better for all,” she said.

Mrs. Soludo, founder of the Healthy Living Initiative, not only distributed the palliatives but also organized free comprehensive medical checks and cancer screenings for the women.

The beneficiaries underwent tests for HIV, blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and body mass index, along with cervical and breast cancer screenings.

She urged women to prioritize routine medical check-ups to help prevent health complications or untimely deaths.

She said, “Health is the greatest wealth you can have; do not joke with your health. Take advantage of the free cervical and breast cancer screening organised by Health Living Initiative and know your status. Our mothers should also secure the health of their children by embracing immunisation and exclusive breastfeeding.’’

Afam Obidike, the Anambra Commissioner for Health, praised the governor’s wife for her commitment to women’s health through her health awareness campaigns and free cancer screening programs.

One of the beneficiaries, Adanna Akaora from Oyi Local Government Area, expressed her gratitude to the program’s organizers, noting that the palliative would significantly help ease the hardship her household is currently facing.
