JUST IN: Tinubu’s Ally, French President Macron Caught in Viral Video Swiping White Powder on Table Off Camera (VIDEO)

A viral video circulating on X (formerly Twitter) and other social media platforms has sparked controversy after it appeared to show former French President Emmanuel Macron, a known diplomatic ally of Bola Tinubu a well know drug baron, swiping what some claim to be a bag of white powder off a table during a high level meeting ahead of the Kyiv summit.

The footage, posted by prominent X user Dr. Simon Goddek (@goddekeetal) at 14:31 PM on May 11, 2025, has already garnered over 3.7 million views, 12,600 reposts, and 42,700 likes, igniting speculations online.

French President Macron Caught in Viral Video Swiping White Powder on Table Off Camera

Accompanying the video, Dr. Goddek wrote: “Three men and a bag of white powder. Notice how Macron sneakily and deftly swipes it out of the camera’s view. The German chancellor Merz takes care of the spoon. Can’t have people thinking they are plotting strategy while doing cocaine together.”

In the now viral clip, Macron is seen quickly removing an object that resembles a small bag from the table, slipping it into his back pocket. Moments later, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz discreetly pockets what many online users have speculated to be a small spoon, both actions taking place as journalists snapped photos of the leaders assembling. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer was also present at the table but is not implicated in the specific movements.

The video surfaces comes just as Macron, Merz, Starmer, and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk travel to Kyiv for a Saturday summit of the so-called “coalition of the willing.” The meeting aims to discuss renewed support for Ukraine and a proposed 30 day ceasefire with Russia, amidst fresh diplomatic tensions between Ukraine and Hungary over espionage claims.

Social media reactions have been swift and polarized. One X user, @Jeff_T, commented: “Anyone who lived through the real cocaine years, 1978 to about ’82, knows exactly what this was… Spoon disappears, bag vanishes, and you all pretend to be talking about geopolitics instead of how fast your heart’s beating.” Another user, Gokhankaralar, expressed skepticism of official denials: “If it’s really just a tissue, what’s the harm in it sitting on the table? First, he picks it up with his right hand, then puts it in his back pocket with his left. And this is a paper tissue, is it? In that case, I’m Santa Claus!”

Others defended the leaders, downplaying the allegations. User @LORDE dismissed the claims bluntly: “That’s a tissue. Are you blind?” However, some commenters used the moment to criticize Western leadership more broadly. Incognito wrote: “Good to know that leaders of countries are irresponsible drug users, who violate felony statutes for which their citizenry gets imprisoned! This needs to go viral! Recall that cocaine was found in the White House as well.”

User ITattacks added a more cynical take: “If you were wondering where trillions of dollars went that were unaccounted for, now you know. Most addicts will do anything for more drugs and pay outrageous prices.”

At the time of this report, neither Macron’s office nor that of Chancellor Merz has issued any statement regarding the viral video. With leaders converging in Kyiv for sensitive negotiations, the controversy threatens to overshadow the summit’s diplomatic objectives, at least on social media.
