Misplaced Priority: Tinubu’s Government Hustles Legacy Project Amid Economic Hardship

Despite Nigeria’s challenges, the Tinubu-led government is pushing ahead with its ambitious plan to construct a superhighway linking Cross River, Ebonyi, Kogi, Benue, and Nasarawa States with the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.

Senator David Umahi, Minister of Works, made the appeal for cooperation from the governors of these states during a meeting with stakeholders on Saturday.

Sen. Umahi stressed that the superhighway, part of the Renewed Hope Legacy Infrastructure Project, transcends mere road construction. He described it as an investment critical to reviving the nation’s ailing economy.

Additionally, the project will include six lanes, a train track, and solar streetlights to enhance safety and sustainability.

The senator also mentioned that the Federal Executive Council has directed that long-uncompleted federal projects across the country be identified, prioritized, and completed, ensuring that the Renewed Hope legacy infrastructure projects receive the necessary focus and resources.

Governors and stakeholders in attendance acknowledged the economic challenges but praised Bola Tinubu for pushing forward with the Renewed Hope legacy infrastructure projects.
