Human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu stated that the Tinubu’s administration made Nigerians unable to afford chicken during the festive season.
Yesufu made this statement in a post shared on her official X handle on Sunday.
Her statement comes following the news on how poultry farmers severely lamented their huge losses because Nigerians jettisoned purchase of chicken for essential commodities.
In an interview with the Director General, DG, Poultry Association of Nigeria, PAN, Dr Onallo Akpa revealed that sales and patronage at Christmas and New Year in contrast to the expectations of most poultry farmers, all they produced could not be sold.

“Families are striving to see how they can get any kind of food for their families, and therefore, the luxury of poultry meat as protein was not a consideration during Christmas and New Year.
“Poultry farmers who thought of making little profit at Christmas and New Year, are, at the moment, lamenting the losses they incurred,”Akpa said.
Reacting to his statement, Yesufu in her post wrote,”Tinubu’s Illegitimate Government made people too poor to buy chicken. When the purchasing power of people is reduced, many essential things become luxury.”
