In a bold proposal to address Nigeria’s persistent power supply issues, financial analyst Kalu Aja has suggested banning the use of generators and solar inverters for all civil servants and elected officials.
Aja shared his views on his official X handle, advocating for stringent measures to improve public services.
Extending his proposal to other sectors, Aja argued that the same principle should apply to education and healthcare to ensure better public services.
He proposed that all children of elected officials and civil servants be mandated to attend public schools within their local government area. Similarly, he suggested that civil servants and elected officials should be prohibited from seeking medical care abroad.
Aja stated, “If you want to fix the power supply in Nigeria, ban generators, All generators, Even solar inverters for all civil servants and elected officials
“Do you want good public schools? Mandate all children of elected officials and Civil servants must attend public schools in the local government area they reside or work.
“Do you want world-class health care? The same mandate civil servants and elected officials cannot go abroad for medical care.
“Make it a criminal offence, punishable by jail time without the option of fine for civil servants and elected officials to own a generator or send wards to private schools or hospitals abroad.
“You want generator or Oxford? Resign,” he added.
