Tragic Accident Claims Four Lives on Lagos-Ibadan Highway in Ogun State

In the early hours of Monday, a devastating accident on the Lagos-Ibadan highway in Ogun State claimed the lives of four individuals.

The incident occurred around 12:45 am and was confirmed by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in an official statement.

According to the spokesperson for the FRSC in Ogun, Florence Okpe, a total of 21 individuals were involved in the accident, comprising 13 adult males and eight adult females.

Among them, three suffered injuries—one male and two females.

All four of the unfortunate fatalities were adult males.

The collision involved a luxury bus with the registration number ACA533ZP and another vehicle lacking a visible registration number.

The preliminary investigation points to excessive speed as the suspected cause of the accident, resulting in a loss of control over the vehicles, according to Okpe’s statement.

The injured victims received immediate medical attention at Famobis Hospital, while the bodies of the deceased were taken to the Idera morgue.

The FRSC Sector Commander in Ogun, Anthony Uga, expressed his condolences to the grieving families, emphasizing that such tragic incidents could often be avoided with caution and adherence to road safety rules.

He urged motorists to exercise prudence and reduce speed, particularly at night when visibility is limited.
