In a tragic incident, a “Trailer Carrying 27 Cows Kills 6, Injures 16 in Gombe,” as reported by the Gombe State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). The unfortunate event unfolded on Friday morning in Jekadefari, Gombe metropolis.

The state sector commander of FRSC, Felix Theman, confirmed the accident during a media briefing. He explained that the trailer, which was transporting 27 cows, lost control and ended up in a ditch, resulting in a solitary crash. He was quoted as saying, “The crash that happened this morning was a lone crash involving a trailer carrying 27 cows; the crash occurred on Abacha Road, Jekadefari.”

Following the accident, the bodies of the deceased were transported to a mortuary in Gombe, while the injured were rushed to a hospital for immediate medical attention. Theman highlighted that the trailer was traversing a route that was not designated for heavy-duty vehicles, as per the state government’s regulations.

Theman urged drivers of large vehicles to be vigilant and also advised local residents to prevent their children from playing on tarred roads to avoid accidents. He further added that an investigation is currently underway to determine if the person operating the trailer was the authorized driver. (NAN)
