Troops Attack Terrorists in Sokoto, Recover Bomb, Ammunition

The Nigerian Army’s 8th Division Garrison launched a planned offensive operation into Tukandu Village in Sokoto as part of a covert operation resulting in the killing of terrorists, with many wounded while others escaped through the forest.

The operation was focused on a notorious terrorist organization that was known for carrying out numerous heinous and horrific crimes nearby.

This was disclosed today via the official Nigerian Army X account.

The ensuing mop-up operations resulted in the recovery of nine motorbikes, two rocket-propelled gun bombs, 125 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition, three AK-47 rifles, one PKT gun, and three AK-47 rifles.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, hailed the troops and urged them to maintain their resolve while stepping up operations against the terrorists in order to devastate them and deny them the ability to act.
