In a fatal road crash, a truck crushed two people to death at a security checkpoint in the Moro local government area of Kwara State.
The terrible tragedy claimed the lives of a sugarcane trader and an unidentified military officer. The incident happened on Sunday in Jebba, which is part of the Moro local government area.
Local reports state that the victims were struck by the vehicle at a checkpoint after it swerved off the road. Frederick Ogidan, the Federal Road Safety Corps’ (FRSC) Kwara State Sector Commander, verified the incident.
“It was a lone accident involving a DAF truck which lost control and hit the victims. Four people were affected, they were all males but two of them died while the other two didn’t sustain any injury,” Ogidan stated.
The community has been shaken by this unfortunate tragedy, underscoring the need for better road safety protocols.
