U.S. President Donald Trump has sharply criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Biden administration’s handling of the war in Ukraine.
In a statement posted on his social media, Trump accused Zelenskyy of manipulating the U.S. into spending $350 billion on a war he claims “couldn’t be won” and “never had to start.”
He argued that the financial burden on the U.S. has been disproportionately higher than Europe’s, questioning why ex-president Joe Biden did not negotiate better terms for American taxpayers.

Trump also alleged that Zelenskyy admitted half of the U.S. aid was “missing” while refusing to hold elections in Ukraine.
He described Zelenskyy as “a dictator without elections” and suggested that the Ukrainian leader’s popularity was declining.
Trump further claimed that Ukraine is on the brink of collapse and warned that Zelenskyy “better move fast or he is not going to have a country left.”

In his statement, Trump positioned himself as the only leader capable of negotiating an end to the war, stating that “all admit only TRUMP” and his administration could achieve peace with Russia.
He criticized Biden and European leaders for failing to bring the conflict to a resolution, implying that Zelenskyy prefers to prolong the war to maintain financial and military support from the West.
Trump concluded by expressing sympathy for Ukraine while blaming Zelenskyy’s leadership for the country’s destruction and the loss of millions of lives.
His remarks come amid ongoing debates in the U.S. over continued military and financial assistance to Ukraine, with some Republicans advocating for reduced spending on the conflict.
