I Will Use Military Assets to Reverse Biden-Era Migration Crisis Through Mass Deportation Program — Trump

President-elect Donald Trump announced on Monday his intention to declare a national emergency on border security and deploy the U.S. military to execute a large-scale deportation of undocumented migrants.

Immigration was a key issue during the election campaign. Trump pledged to deport millions of people and secure the U.S.-Mexico border, citing a surge in illegal crossings during President Joe Biden’s administration.

Posting on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump shared a post by a conservative activist stating that he is “prepared to declare a national emergency and will use military assets to reverse the Biden-era migration crisis through a mass deportation program.”

Alongside the repost, Trump commented, “True!”

Donald Trump secured a dramatic return to the presidency with his November 5 victory over Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris.

He has begun assembling a cabinet dominated by immigration hardliners, including appointing former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) acting chief Tom Homan as his “border czar.”

At the Republican National Convention in July, Homan issued a stark warning to undocumented immigrants: “I have a message for the millions of illegal immigrants that Joe Biden has allowed into our country: You better start packing now.”

Authorities estimate that around 11 million people are living in the U.S. without legal status, and Trump’s deportation strategy is anticipated to affect as many as 20 million families directly.

Although the U.S. government has long struggled with managing its southern border with Mexico, Trump has heightened fears by alleging an ongoing “invasion” of migrants he claims are endangering Americans through crime and violence.

Throughout his campaign, Trump frequently attacked undocumented immigrants, using inflammatory rhetoric that described foreigners as a threat to the nation’s character and security.

He repeatedly pledged to invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to expedite deportations, though he has yet to provide specifics on his immigration crackdown.
