Assassination Attempt: Trump’s Security Detail Berates Shortage of Resources by Secret Service Including Personnel As Agency Acknowledged

The Secret Service has acknowledged denying some security requests from former President Donald Trump’s detail over the past two years, citing resource limitations.

However, the agency claims to have provided alternative security measures, such as local sniper teams and handheld magnetometers, to compensate for the denials.

This revelation comes amid concerns about a sniper’s ability to access a rooftop near Trump’s position at a recent rally in Pennsylvania. While the Secret Service maintains that security measures were increased at the Pennsylvania rally and no requests were denied, sources close to Trump suggest that past denials were personally motivated and came from top agency officials.

The relationship between Trump’s detail and the upper ranks of the Secret Service has been tense for some time. The agency spokesperson emphasized that “modifications” are made when certain resources are unavailable to protectees

“In some instances where specific Secret Service specialized units or resources were not provided, the agency made modifications to ensure the security of the protectee,” Anthony Guglielmi, chief of communications for the Secret Service, wrote in a statement. “This may include utilizing state or local partners to provide specialized functions or otherwise identifying alternatives to reduce public exposure of a protectee.”

Guglielmi said in a statement the day after the shooting that claims that Trump was denied additional security requests specifically for the rally in Pennsylvania were untrue.

“This is absolutely false. In fact, we added protective resources & technology & capabilities as part of the increased campaign travel tempo,” Guglielmi wrote on X.

The Secret Service has admitted to rejecting some security requests from Donald Trump’s team over the past two years due to limited resources. However, they claim to have provided alternative security measures like local sniper teams and handheld metal detectors. This news comes as concerns arise about a sniper accessing a rooftop near Trump at a recent Pennsylvania rally.

While the Secret Service says they increased security at the rally and didn’t deny any requests, sources close to Trump believe past denials were personal and came from top officials. There’s been tension between Trump’s detail and the Secret Service’s upper ranks for a while. The agency says they make adjustments when resources are scarce to protect individuals.
