Unknown Gunmen Kill POS Agent, Cart Away Money, Other Valuables in Ekiti

Gunmen fatally shot a Point of Sale (POS) agent, known locally as Alfa, in the Teaching Hospital Area of Ado Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State, on Thursday.

Eyewitnesses reported that the gunmen arrived on a motorbike, shot Alfa, and fled with cash and other valuables.

DSP Sunday Abutu, the Public Relations Officer of the state’s police command, confirmed the incident, stating that Alfa’s body has been taken to a morgue and an investigation is underway to apprehend the perpetrators.

His words, “Immediately we got the information, we mobilised our men to the scene. The man was found lying down in a pool of his blood and was moved to the general hospital where he was confirmed dead.

“His body has been deposited in the mogue. Right now, the commissioner of police has ordered investigation into the incident to ensure that the criminals are arrested and brought to justice”.

This incident occurred on Monday when unidentified gunmen killed a ticketing officer from the Okada Riders Association in broad daylight near the Okesa roundabout, close to the market.
