“US Assisted Israel in Intercepting ‘Nearly All’ Iran Drones,” Biden Confirms

President Joe Biden said that US military forces played a significant role in intercepting “almost all” of the drones and missiles launched by Iran towards Israel.

He reiterated his unwavering support for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during this crisis.

Additionally, Biden stated that he will convene a meeting with the leaders of the G7 nations to coordinate a unified diplomatic response to what he described as Iran’s audacious attack.

Biden condemned the attacks launched by Iran and its proxies from Yemen, Syria, and Iraq against Israeli military installations in the strongest terms possible.

“Iran — and its proxies operating out of Yemen, Syria and Iraq — launched an unprecedented air attack against military facilities in Israel. I condemn these attacks in the strongest possible terms,” Biden said.

Recognizing the heightened threat posed by Iran to Israel, Biden disclosed that he had dispatched US military aircraft and ballistic missile defense destroyers to the Middle East in recent days.

“Thanks to these deployments and the extraordinary skill of our servicemembers, we helped Israel take down nearly all of the incoming drones and missiles,” he said.

Biden added that he had spoken to Netanyahu to “reaffirm America’s ironclad commitment” to Israel’s security.

“I told him that Israel demonstrated a remarkable capacity to defend against and defeat even unprecedented attacks — sending a clear message to its foes that they cannot effectively threaten the security of Israel,” he said.
