US Election 2024: Kamala Harris Concedes Defeat, Calls Trump

On Wednesday afternoon, Kamala Harris formally conceded the presidential election to Donald Trump after speaking with the former president on the phone.

“She discussed the importance of a peaceful transfer of power and being a president for all Americans,” a senior Harris aide shared, Mail Online reports.

Harris is set to speak at Howard University later today, while Trump is spending the day at his Mar-a-Lago residence.

Michigan, a key part of the “blue wall,” has been crucial in recent elections. Democrats had hoped this stronghold would secure Harris’s victory, as Joe Biden won it back in 2020 after Trump broke through it in 2016, despite Hillary Clinton’s last-minute campaign efforts in the state.
