We’ve Interviewed More Than 150,000 Nigerians, 30,000 Students — US Embassy

Mr. David Greene, the Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria, disclosed that the embassy has conducted interviews with over 150,000 Nigerians, with a notable focus on engaging around 30,000 students in the current year.

Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, Greene revealed, “This year, we’ve conducted interviews with more than 150,000 individuals, and among them are 30,000 students. Numerous students have availed themselves of the opportunity to apply for U.S. visas. We’ve been diligently addressing the significant backlog caused by COVID-19 across all categories.”

Highlighting the Nigerians embassy’s accomplishments, he mentioned, “We’ve achieved considerable progress. In March, we implemented a five-year term for U.S. visas.”

Greene also assured visa applicants of the embassy’s commitment to resolving visa-related challenges. He emphasized that issues related to visas will soon be a thing of the past, as the mission is actively working to address such impediments.

In an appeal to prospective travelers to the U.S., he advised, “Those seeking visas should submit their applications early and ensure that their travel plans are well-defined. Recognizing the existing backlog, we are dedicated to facilitating the issuance of visas to those who genuinely need them for travel to the U.S.” #Nigerians
