Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Imo, Senator Athan Achonu has said that no amount of persuasion or money would make him drop his gubernatorial ambition.
Achonu made the assertion when featured on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Friday.
In an interview with Seun Okinbaloye, Achonu made a strong statement debunking the assertions that he has monetised the process and is only serving as a placeholder in the forthcoming election.
According to him, “Hope Uzodinma (incumbent governor) cannot buy me even with $100 million dollars.”
This statement comes amidst a heated political climate in the State.
The date of the Imo gubernatorial election is scheduled to hold on November 11, 2023.
Hope Uzodinma, the flag-bearer of All Progressives Congress (APC) is seeking reelection.
