VIDEO: Ghanaian Lawmaker Cautions Colleagues on “Passing Bad Laws” After Kenyans Stormed Parliament During Anti-tax Protests

A Ghanaian Member of Parliament has cautioned his colleagues on “passing bad laws” after Kenyans stormed parliament during anti-tax protests.

In a video shared by a VOANews reporter, Kenedy Wandera on X, the parliamentarian said, “Kenyan public are beating up Members of Parliament for passing bad laws. Mr Speaker, it is a serious matter. I saw colleagues Members of Parliament beaten to a pulp. Mr Speaker, advise us on how to pass good laws to avoid being beaten by the public. We should be worried. It is not a laughing matter. It is not a joke.”

Wandera noted that Ghanaian youths are also mobilizing for a nationwide protest adding that, “Maybe Members of Parliament are being cautious enough to avoid Kenya style storming of parliament.”

Reacting, @Chubalus16 tweeted, “That’s because they have respect for their people. In Nigeria, they will pass it and ask the citizens to make sacrifice. The Nigerian politicians are the luckiest people on earth. Some of them who ought to in prison are making laws for the citizens.”
