On Wednesday, a Danfo commercial vehicle carrying multiple passengers met with an accident on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.
Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, the Lagos Territorial Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), confirmed the incident.
He stated that the collision resulted in two adult passengers being thrown off the 18-seater bus into the Lagos lagoon.
Farinloye mentioned that the Marine Police are currently conducting a search operation for the missing male and female passengers who fell from the bus.

The crash in a video posted on X, involving the bus with registration number FKJ 872 YA, occurred near the Adeniyi Adele axis heading towards Lagos Island.
According to Farinloye, the driver, speeding at the time, lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and collide with the bridge rails.
This impact forcefully propelled the two passengers off the bus and into the Lagos lagoon.
“The victims, an adult male and female, are being searched by the Marine Police.
“The injured have been evacuated to a nearby hospital,” Farinloye added.
