As the #EndBadGovernment protest in Nigeria enters its third day, protesters across the country continue to voice their frustration over severe security threats and the perceived indifference of the government.
In a video shared by TheCable on their X handle, protesters have demanded an immediate response from authorities, urging them to address the escalating insecurity and to prevent any further violence against civilians.
The outcry has been amplified by reports of police brutality, with many fearing for their safety as they return home amidst rising threats.
“The government is supposed to be for the people, not against us,” said a protester, emphasizing the disconnect between the ruling administration and the citizens it represents.
Despite the celebrations of democracy on June 12, many Nigerians feel that their voices are going unheard, as the government remains notably silent on the ongoing demonstrations. .

The protesters have called on the Inspector General of Police, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Chief of Army Staff to intervene and ensure that their personnel act professionally.
The protester condemned the violence against protesters and demanded an end to the use of force, asserting that such actions only exacerbate the already dire situation. “We need our leaders to listen to us and protect us,” she stated.
“I am hungry, and thousands of Nigerians are hungry,” she lamented. The economic strain, coupled with insecurity and government silence, has led many to question the future of Nigeria and the role of its leadership in addressing the nation’s critical issues.
