Vinicius Junior has issued a public apology to Real Madrid supporters for his behaviour during Sunday’s heated El Clasico victory over Barcelona.
The Brazilian forward was withdrawn in the 72nd minute and reacted angrily, storming straight into the dressing room before returning later to the bench.
His visible frustration was captured on camera, sparking debate among fans and pundits over his temperament and commitment.
After Real Madrid’s 2–1 win, tensions spilled over as Vinicius appeared to confront Barcelona’s teenage winger Lamine Yamal during post-match exchanges.

Taking to X on Monday, Vinicius wrote: “Today I want to apologise to all the Madridistas for my reaction when I was substituted in the Clasico.”
He continued, “Just as I have already done in person during today’s training, I also want to apologise again to my team-mates, the club, and the president.”
The winger admitted that his passion sometimes overrides his composure, saying: “Sometimes passion gets the better of me because I always want to win and help my team. My competitive character stems from the love I feel for this club and everything it represents.”
Vinicius joined Real Madrid from Flamengo in 2018 for a reported £38.7 million and has since scored 111 goals in 335 matches.

However, uncertainty remains over his long-term future in Spain amid reports suggesting the club could consider his sale if the right offer arrives.
During his substitution on Sunday, Dazn’s cameras caught him muttering: “Always me! I’m leaving the team! It’s better if I leave, I’m leaving.”
In a follow-up post, Vinicius sought to reassure fans of his loyalty, saying: “I promise to keep fighting every second for the good of Real Madrid, as I have done since the first day.”
The apology is seen as an attempt to calm speculation over dressing room unrest and to repair his relationship with the Madrid fanbase after a turbulent weekend.
