Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior has responded to Cristiano Ronaldo’s remarks regarding the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
Speaking at the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, Ronaldo stated that it was unfair for Vinicius not to win the prestigious award, asserting that the Brazilian international deserved the accolade.
Vinicius finished second in the 2024 Ballon d’Or rankings, behind Manchester City midfielder Rodri, who claimed the title earlier this year in France.
Reacting to Ronaldo’s endorsement, Vinicius said at the same event, “Cristiano Ronaldo’s words about the Ballon d’Or? If Cristiano said I’m the best, then I am!”

Despite missing out on the Ballon d’Or, Vinicius was honoured as the FIFA Best Player of the Year.
