Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has said that Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior deserved to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
Speaking at the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai on Friday evening, Ronaldo described the outcome as unfair, noting that the Brazilian forward finished as runner-up to Manchester City midfielder Rodri, who claimed the prestigious award in Paris this past October.
Rodri received the majority of votes, a result that reportedly led Vinicius and Real Madrid officials to boycott the Ballon d’Or ceremony.

“Vinicius Jr should have won the Ballon d’Or, in my opinion, it was clear,” Ronaldo said.
“It was unfair. This is why I love Globe Soccer Awards; they are honest.”
