SHOCKING: Vice President’s Office Lavishes N10m on Hotel Bills for Guests of Tinubu’s Daughter

In a shocking revelation, documents obtained from the BudgIT Govspend platform unveil that the Office of the Vice President of Nigeria disbursed a hefty N10 million to settle hotel bills for guests of Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, daughter of Chief Bola Tinubu.

The payment, made to Royal Pacific Group on November 17, 2023, raises eyebrows as it marks the first instance of public funds being used for the accommodation of a private citizen’s guests.

The payment description explicitly states, “Payment in favour of Fraser Suites, Abuja, Nigeria, for the settlement of hotel accommodation bills for the service rendered to guests of Mrs Folashade Tinubu-Ojo.”

Despite holding the title of Iyaloja-General of Nigeria and being a prominent figure among Nigerian traders, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo does not occupy any elected government office.

This financial transaction is part of a series of payments dating back to June 11, 2019, where various government agencies routinely covered accommodation expenses through Royal Pacific Group. However, this revelation marks an unprecedented diversion of public funds for a private citizen’s guests.

Efforts to seek clarification from key figures in the Vice President’s office and the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, have been met with silence. The story was brought to light by the independent investigative journalism platform FIJ, which accessed the information from the publicly available Open Treasury Portal.
