Lagos Island residents and traders at the bustling Idumota market voiced their dissatisfaction with Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his recent visit to Lagos.
In a video circulating on X, the crowd lining both sides of the road refrained from cheering as Tinubu’s convoy navigated through the market’s bustling lanes, instead shouting in Yoruba, “Ebi npa wa oo,” meaning “We are hungry.”
He’s visit to Lagos was intended to mark the Christmas and New Year festivities.

However, the video highlights the stark reality that many Nigerians are grappling with various challenges, including cash shortages and soaring prices of essential commodities.
Of particular concern is the skyrocketing cost of premium motor spirit, commonly known as petrol.
The verbal opposition in the heart of Lagos underscores the prevalent frustrations among citizens, shedding light on the tangible impact of economic hardships.
