Our $1 Trillion Economy Plan Will Be Undermined If We Don’t End Insecurity— Tinubu

Bola Tinubu has issued a stern warning to security chiefs, emphasizing the need for a definitive victory against the nation’s security threats. He stated that failure is not an option as it could hinder Nigeria’s goal of becoming a $1trillion economy.

Tinubu’s special adviser on media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, revealed this in a statement he signed on Friday titled, “President Tinubu to security chiefs: You are making good progress, but there must be conclusive victory.”

He stated, “We have too many investments that we need to make now in soft and physical infrastructure, in social security, in MSME empowerment, and other growth enablers.

“We are pursuing a $1trn economy in the next few years, and our efforts will be undermined if we do not finally wrap up our progressive onslaught against enemies of progress.

Tinubu expressed his concern over the repeated instances of misdirected strikes on innocent civilians by the military and intelligence community, labeling such “errors” as “unacceptable.”

While acknowledging the progress made in addressing some security threats across various fronts, Tinubu stated that ultimate success will be measured by the complete eradication of these multi-faceted threats.
