Former Minister for Education, Oby Ezekwesili, has stated that Nigerians should be happy about the existence of the OBIDIENTS movement, which is striving for good governance anchored in the rule of law.
Speaking during an X Space event titled “VawulenceSpace: State of the Nation With Dr. Oby Ezekwesili,” she emphasized the importance of citizens not giving up on the country and continuing to strive for good governance.
Ezekwesili expressed her delight at citizens taking charge of the country, especially the young generation. She urged her generation to welcome and support this movement, as it brings hope and a renewed push for freedom from what she termed “democratic colonialists” acting as predators.
She stated, “I am delighted that citizens are taking charge of their country, Nigeria. I am glad the young generation gathered here today are not going away and are not giving up on the country.”
Speaking further in the necessity of Obidient movement, Ezekwesili articulated, “We all should be glad that a movement of a diverse group of Nigerians like the OBIDIENTS exists today. Citizens who want and desire more, who are yearning for good governance that is anchored on the Rule of Law, it should be welcomed most especially by my generation.
“We’ve lived most of our lives already Your emergence gives me plenty of hope. Hope is inexhaustible. A liberation struggle is never too much. Freedom from democratic colonialists who act as Predators will not be easy, don’t ever give up,” she added.
