Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the interim national coordinator of the Obidient Movement, has announced a strategic plan to significantly bolster the movement’s grassroots presence.
Speaking at an X space event titled “Active Citizenship with H.E Peter Obi,” hosted by the PO Media Center, Tanko revealed that the movement aims to establish a robust structure centered around polling units.
Tanko emphasised the importance of having a strong grassroots presence, stating that the goal is to recruit no less than 100,000 individuals at each of the 179,000 polling units across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas.
He stated, “The obidient Movement will be built around the polling unit. We need a strong presence level at the grass root level.
“We target to have nothing less than 100 people at each polling unit to strengthen the obedient presence.
“The 179,000 polling units across the 774 local government area in 36 states of the federation and working with the minimum number of 100 people at each polling unit, we will end up having 17 million Nigerians registered to work for the Obidient movement.
“Every strength we have must be dedicated to the polling unit,” he added.
