“We’ll Kick Out Rivers Governor, Fubara in 2027 Election” – Ganduje Vows

Fubara

In a move to secure victory in the 2027 governorship election in Rivers State, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, revealed a renewed effort by the National Working Committee (NWC) to reposition the party in the state by kicking out Fubara in 2027 elections.

Governor Sim Fubara, currently at the helm in Rivers State, is the target of the APC’s plan to regain control of the state, which is presently under the opposition PDP.

Fubara recently severed ties with his political mentor, Nyesom Wike, who serves as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister in the APC-led federal government.

During the inauguration of the state caretaker committee at the APC national secretariat in Abuja on Friday, Ganduje expressed concerns over the party’s challenges in Rivers State since 2015, citing intra-party disputes and litigations as contributing factors.

Notably, the NWC dissolved the Rivers executives at all levels on Wednesday, establishing a 7-member caretaker committee led by Tony Okocha, composed of loyalists to former governor and current FCT minister Nyesom Wike.

The move underscores the APC’s commitment to overcoming setbacks and making significant strides in Rivers State politics leading up to the 2027 elections.
