The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has voiced confidence in the party’s ability to capture Rivers State, pledging to rebuild and strengthen its local chapter.
Ganduje shared this vision on Thursday in Abuja while welcoming Dawari Ibietela George, the 2023 governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), back into the APC.
He described George as a significant political addition, commending his experience and expressing optimism that George’s return would further reinforce their position in Rivers State.
“We are committed to making Rivers State a stronghold for the party,” Ganduje said.
“Rivers State will be completely APC. You are now equal members with every other member of the party. We are bent on widening democracy in the country,” Ganduje added.
The remarks come amid rising tensions between Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who currently serves as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory under the APC-led administration.
Ganduje assured George that the APC would provide a robust framework to support him and other returning members, underscoring the party’s commitment to inclusivity and fair representation of diverse interests.
