Nigerian singer-songwriter, Charly Boy has questioned the use of communications, telecommunications ministries and others when they couldn’t trace those behind the kidnap of the Sokoto emir through the phone calls of the kidnappers.
Recall Sarkin Gobir, a traditional ruler in Sokoto State was abducted by heavily armed bandits who subjected him to severe torture and dehumanizing treatment.
The terrorists later released a video showing the traditional ruler begging for his life and desperately appealing to the government to take action to secure his release.
Reacting to the tragic incident, Charly boy in a post on his X handle recalled the amount demanded from the kidnappers to release the Emir and how he was later killed.
Charly boy stated that the communication going on between family of the deceased and the kidnappers in a bid to secure the release of their father could have been a better spot to get a hold of the kidnappers.
He wrote,”An emir was kidnapped and N1 billion ransom in cash was demanded. Demand was not met and the emir was killed.
“Son asked for the corpse of the murdered Emir.Kidnappers demands N60 million and 6 motorbikes as ransom for the ded bodi of the killed emir.
“In all these going on, we have SSS, DSS, FIB, CID, EFCC, ICPC, Army, Navy, Air Force and other paramilitaries The kidnappers were discussing on phone with the family of the kidnapped emir just as they’ve been doing all over the country.
“We have ministers of communication, telecommunications, information and others that have access to service providers. In fact we have minister Bosun Tijani that they hyped and over hyped as computer guru.
“If we can’t track calls made by kidnappers and know their location in this modern era, what’s the use of communication, telecommunications, information and other nonsense ministries,” Charly boy queried.
