Atiku, acknowledging Obi’s visit, described it as an honor and privilege in a tweet shared via his official X handle.

Speaking on the visit, Atiku’s Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, said: “The meeting was held behind closed doors. But we haven’t been briefed.”

“The state of the nation and the plight of the poor inspired the visits. Mr. Peter Obi has continued to live up to his expressed commitment to the peace and progress of the nation,” Tanko said.

“His abiding devotion is to the emergence of a Nigeria that works for all its peoples and where  the people are quickly pulled out of poverty.”

Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, served as Atiku’s running mate on the PDP presidential ticket during the 2019 general elections.

Unfortunately, they were defeated by former President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
