Wike Declares Abuja Safe Haven for Foreign Businesses, Despite Series of Kidnapping

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has affirmed that Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, is safe and conducive for foreigners to conduct their businesses.

During a visit from the Ambassador of Poland to Nigeria, Mrs. Joanna Tarnawska, Wike emphasised the significant improvement in security within the city, assuring all, including foreigners, of a secure environment to operate without apprehension.

Wike stated, “We are happy to make sure all the foreigners are free to carry out their businesses.

“Abuja is the capital, and you can see how safe it is. It is one of the lovely cities that everybody will want to visit,” he added.

Highlighting the cordial relationship between Nigeria and Poland, Wike expressed the FCT Administration’s readiness to collaborate with Poland, particularly in the agricultural sector.

He proposed the possibility of Polish investors establishing large farms in Abuja, which could provide employment opportunities for the youth and potentially lead to the ownership of these farms over time.

Ambassador Tarnawska, in her remarks, reaffirmed the enduring bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Poland, expressing her visit’s purpose to strengthen this bond.
