Panic Grips FCT Civil Servants as Wike Announces Immediate Reshuffle of Directors

Panic has engulfed the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) following an announcement by the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, regarding an immediate reshuffling of directors across Secretariats, Departments, and Agencies (SDAs).

The decision, disclosed during the swearing-in ceremony of the pioneer Head of Service and Permanent Secretaries of the FCTA, aims to enhance operational efficiency within the system.

Wike emphasized the necessity for the directors to embrace their new postings with a positive outlook, emphasizing that a comprehensive reshuffle will be executed across all sectors of the FCTA.

“Immediately after now, the Head of Service will send out the postings of Directors. I have said that there will be total reshuffling in all areas, and I’m going to implement it this afternoon,” Wike affirmed.

Furthermore, the Minister cautioned the newly appointed permanent secretaries to deliver satisfactory performances, warning of dire consequences for underperformance.

He stressed a zero-tolerance policy towards laziness, urging the Permanent Secretaries to avoid unnecessary delays in handling files or any actions that may hinder the system’s efficiency.

Wike asserted, “If you perform below expectations, there’s nothing like query; we have no time for that. We will just send you packing as permanent secretary.

“So I don’t want to hear any complaints now that you will be handling secretariats; you have your secretaries as your political heads. I don’t want to hear that files are unduly delayed,” he added.
