Journalist and broadcaster Rufai Oseni has praised a military officer who calmly stood his ground during a heated encounter with Minister Nyesom Wike, describing the soldier’s conduct as exemplary.
He made the comment after Wike engaged in a heated argument with soldiers in Abuja over access to a disputed property.

In a post shared on X, Oseni wrote, “That officer deserves a national award. Calm, firm, and collected while Wike was busy behaving like a TikTok skit maker.”
According to Oseni, Wike allegedly called the officer a fool, but the soldier calmly replied, “I’m not a fool, sir. I have integrity.” Oseni said that single statement “finished the argument” and exposed the difference between arrogance and discipline.

He went on to criticize Wike’s reaction, saying the minister switched to the “big man script” after losing the argument, reportedly saying, “You were in primary school when I graduated.”
“That’s their emergency line when logic no longer works,” Oseni remarked, comparing Wike’s behavior to that of politicians who rely on age and power instead of reason.
He concluded, “In that moment, Wike went low and the officer went high. Power met principle. One was shouting, ‘Do you know who I am?’ The other was quietly showing who he truly is.”
