Wike Confirms Procurement of Drones to Enhance Security in Abuja Amid Hunger, Hardship

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has announced the commencement of procurement processes for drones aimed at enhancing the security architecture of Abuja.

This disclosure was made during a courtesy visit by the Consul-General of the Embassy of Hungary in Nigeria, Endre Deri, on Thursday in Abuja.

Responding to Deri’s remarks on the necessity of drones, Minister Wike affirmed the decision, stating, “Whether we want some drones? Yes, there is no going back.” He further pledged to engage security experts to determine the most suitable drones based on the FCT’s terrain.

Highlighting security as a priority in Chief Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Minister Wike emphasized that existing security interventions had led to a significant reduction in insecurity incidents within the FCT.
