During the inauguration of the Arterial Road N20 expressway in Abuja, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, ordered newly appointed permanent secretaries to bow before Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The event, held with much fanfare, took an unexpected direction when he called out the officials in front of the audience.
“Some of them have never dreamt in their lives that they will get to the peak of their careers,” Wike remarked, emphasizing the significance of their appointments. “Come out, you are the beneficiaries, both men and women, come out and take a bow before Mr. President.”
He’s directive was met with mixed reactions from the audience. The permanent secretaries, newly appointed upon Wike’s recommendation, stepped forward as instructed and bowed to Tinubu. This marked a public acknowledgement of their gratitude and loyalty to Tinubu.
Present at the ceremony were the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Umar Ganduje, and National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu.
Wike went on to formally present the permanent secretaries to Chief Tinubu, acknowledging them as the first set of technical team members appointed during Tinubu’s tenure.
