Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Austin Okpara, has criticized Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the FCT, for his alleged attempts to dominate the structures of both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State.
Okpara, a chieftain of the PDP, expressed concern over Wike’s aspirations during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
Okpara commended Governor Siminalayi Fubara for successfully conducting local government elections in the state, despite the withdrawal of both the PDP and APC from the process.
He emphasised the significance of the election results, describing them as indicative of the people’s dissatisfaction with oppression.
He stated, “A man wants to control APC structure, he wants to be in control of PDP structure, in a state? How do you explain that?”

“The difference now is that we have a governor who wants to serve and not be served; not a governor who Adolf Hitler is his mentor or (Donald) Trump,” Okpara added.
