Political tension flared in Anambra State as the proscribed governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nicholas Ukachukwu, was caught on video threatening the state’s Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, during a violent confrontation.
In the viral clip, Ukachukwu was heard issuing a direct threat: “I will burn your cars here and nothing will happen.” The remark sparked outrage as Guy tried to intervene while the heated argument nearly escalated into physical violence.
The altercation reportedly occurred in the buildup to the Anambra Central senatorial re-run election, where political stakes have already heightened clashes between party loyalists.
Observers say the outburst is particularly alarming given that it was made in the context of a senatorial by-election.
