Nigerian music superstar Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has set a new record for the highest streams by any song on Spotify Nigeria.
A single from his recently released album, Morayo, titled “Kese (Dance),” achieved an impressive 1.5 million streams on its opening day, marking the highest debut for a song on the platform in the country.
Another track from the album, “Piece of My Heart,” also recorded over 1 million streams on its first day.
Morayo, which means “I see joy” in Yoruba, is a tribute to Wizkid’s late mother, Juliana Balogun, who passed away in August 2023.
Released on November 22, the album quickly climbed to the top of the Apple Music Nigeria Chart, with multiple tracks dominating leading positions.

The album features a mix of collaborations with artists across various genres, further cementing Wizkid’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s most accomplished musicians.
