Precious Yusuf has been arrested by the Nigerian Correctional Service for allegedly attempting to smuggle drugs to an inmate at the Kuje Medium Security Custodial Centre in Abuja.
Officials apprehended Yusuf during a routine search on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, as she disguised herself as a visitor to one of the inmates.
Adamu Duza, spokesperson for the FCT command of the correctional service, stated that the woman had concealed the drugs within food packs.
“In a statement, Duza reported, ‘During the routine search at Kuje Custodial Centre, officers discovered suspected Indian hemp and other dangerous drugs hidden in food packs within a carton on Tuesday.'”

Yusuf admitted to authorities that she was tasked with delivering the drugs to an inmate at the custodial centre.
