A woman was killed by a stab wound to the neck while trying to stop a fight among church members in Lagos, the police said on Monday.
The Woman, identified as Rachel Johnson, 47, had attended a crusade at Abaranje, Ikotun area of the state, on Saturday night, when the incident occurred.
According to her husband, Okerube Johnson, who reported the case to the police, Rachel intervened in an attempt to separate some church members who were fighting over an undisclosed issue.
However, one of the fighters stabbed her in the neck with a sharp object and fled the scene, leaving her bleeding profusely.

She was rushed to Igando General Hospital but died on the way due to excessive blood loss.
The Woman’s body was taken to Mainland General Hospital Mortuary, Yaba, for an autopsy.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident and said that the police were on the trail of the suspect.
He said, “The suspect is still on the run. We are yet to make any arrest at the moment but efforts are being made to arrest the fleeing perpetrator.”
He appealed to the public to provide any useful information that could lead to the arrest of the killer.
He also urged the residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities or persons to the nearest police station.
