Work for Peace, Unity of Nigeria’, Peter Obi Charges Mbata, Other Ohanaeze Executive

Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of Labour Party, has urged the newly elected leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide to prioritize the peace and unity of Nigeria.

Obi made this call in a congratulatory message to Senator John Azuta Mbata, the newly elected President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, and other members of the executive team.

Obi emphasized the strategic role of Ohanaeze Ndigbo as the umbrella body uniting the Igbo people and expressed hope that the new leadership would build on the confidence placed in them.

“Their emergence underscores the level of confidence and hope the people have in their leadership ability and their commitment to the development of the region and the nation in general,” Obi wrote.

He urged the executives, including Deputy President-General Prince Okey Nwadinobi and Secretary-General Emeka Sibeudu, to leverage their positions to strengthen the Igbo family while fostering national unity.

Encouraged them to contribute ideas that would promote development, peace, and progress within the region and across Nigeria.

Obi further congratulated the executives, highlighting the significance of their responsibility. “On behalf of my family and the Obedient movement, I congratulate the newly elected leaders on their emergence. May God give you all the wisdom and strength to serve the people,” he added.

Peter obi reaffirmed his commitment to a united Nigeria, urging all stakeholders to work collectively toward achieving a new Nigeria. “A new Nigeria remains possible,” Obi said.
