Twenty-nine alleged Yoruba nation agitators apprehended following the recent incursion into the Oyo State House of Assembly and the Governor’s office have been brought before the court.
These suspects, accused of disrupting the peace of Ibadan and its surroundings, are currently undergoing trial at the Chief Magistrate Court on seven charges, including treasonable felony and involvement in an unlawful society.
The arraignment took place at the Iyaganku Magistrate Court in Ibadan on Wednesday. Additional accusations include illegal possession of firearms and behavior likely to incite societal unrest.
The charges were filed by Bakare Rasaq, an inspector from the State Criminal Investigation Department in Iyaganku, Ibadan, as stated in the charge sheet marked Mi/520c/2024.

These alleged offenses are said to violate Section 516 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 38, Vol. II, Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000.
Commissioner of Police CP Adebola Hamzat had previously presented 21 suspects on Monday, and since then, eight more individuals have been apprehended in connection to the incident.
