Hon. Henry Shield, Head of Mission, Leadership & Accountability Initiative, has criticised Minister Nyesom Wike after his expulsion from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), accusing him of campaigning for Bola Tinubu’s second term while claiming to be a PDP member.
In a post on X, Shield wrote, “You started campaigning for Tinubu’s 2nd term even when you claim to be in the PDP. Now that you’ve been expelled to fulfil your mission and join the APC properly, you’re crying?”
He added, “Why are you confusing Amadioha and Sanpona? Ehn, Nyesom? Fine boy, don’t you want to proudly stand with your boss again?”
Wike was expelled alongside former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, suspended PDP National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, and several other party leaders during the party’s national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The motion for their expulsion was moved by Chief Olabode George, former PDP National Vice Chairman (South), and seconded by Hon. Samaila Burga, Chairman of the PDP in Bauchi.

The expulsion followed ongoing factional disputes within the party, with Wike’s loyalists attempting to halt the convention through the courts before the high court in Oyo State allowed it to proceed.
PDP’s move has sparked mixed reactions online, with some supporting the party’s decision and others questioning the timing and motives behind it.
Feliz commented, “PDP leaders made a bold move. They expelled Wike for good. Loyalty comes first. The party will rise again!”
Tayo added, “Those whom the gods wan roast, na groundnut oil them go first pour on top am.”
Some users raised concerns about Wike’s role in the current government, with Apatace systema noting, “Campaigning for Tinubu is under statement. PDP but a cabinet member of APC.”
Critics also suggested the expulsion is part of a strategy to weaken opposition parties ahead of future elections, while supporters saw it as necessary to restore party discipline.
