Financial analyst, Kalu Aja, has expressed disbelief over Bola Tinubu’s failure to appoint ambassadors to key global partners such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and France.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Aja questioned how the Nigerian government could operate without envoys in such strategically important countries.

“How can you not have an ambassador to the US and UK? Even the France you visit on the daily, you didn’t appoint an ambassador. This is baffling to me,” he wrote.
His remarks come amid growing criticism of the administration’s slow pace in filling critical diplomatic positions, following the recall of all ambassadors in 2023 and the prolonged delay in naming new ones and recent U.S. designation linking Nigeria to religious persecution and growing concerns over alleged Christian genocide in parts of the country.
Observers have argued that the absence of ambassadors in strategic nations could weaken Nigeria’s diplomatic response and worsen international perception at a time the administration faces pressure to defend its human rights record.
