Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has paid tribute to the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu on his birth anniversary.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Obi described Ojukwu as a symbol of courage, intellect, and conviction, noting that his legacy continues to inspire Nigerians to pursue justice, equity, and principled leadership.
Obi wrote, “Ojukwu was more than a figure in our history; he embodied courage, intellect, dignity, and firm conviction.
His life reminds us that leadership is not merely a position it is a calling, a burden, and, at times, a test of one’s deepest values.”
He prayed for the peaceful repose of Ojukwu’s soul and urged Nigerians to emulate his ideals of truth, fairness, and humanity.
Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, who led the defunct Republic of Biafra during the Nigerian Civil War, remains one of the nation’s most enduring historical figures.
His vision, courage, and unwavering belief in justice continue to shape conversations around leadership, unity, and national identity across generations.
