As Nigerians gear up for the height of the 2024 Yuletide season, the Federal Government has officially designated Wednesday, December 25; Thursday, December 26; and Wednesday, January 1, 2025, as public holidays.
These holidays are set aside to celebrate Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day, respectively, as announced by the government.
In a statement signed by Magdalene Ajani on behalf of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the minister extended warm greetings to all Nigerians.
The minister also urged citizens to embrace the season’s core values of love, peace, and unity.
Tunji-Ojo said, “The Christmas season is a good moment for both spiritual reflection and national renewal. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, let us demonstrate kindness and extend goodwill to one another, irrespective of our differences.”
He also stated that there is need for Nigerians to strengthen familial and community bonds, fostering harmony that contributes to national development.
