Zamfara International Airport’ll Facilitate Export of Illegally Mined Gold to Dubai – David Hundeyin Reveals

Renowned investigative journalist, David Hundeyin has slammed Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal over the commencement of an international airport in the state, revealing that the main aim of the port is to export illegally mined gold to Dubia.

Recall that Dauda Lawal restated his commitment to rebuilding a new Zamfara that will reclaim its historical role as a commercial hub in northern Nigeria.

He made this known on Thursday when the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace, Festus Keyamo, officially unveiled the construction work on the Gusau International Airport.

A statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Idris, noted that the airport project is intended to be a ‘smart airport’ designed to accommodate domestic and international flights.

According to him, the airport project will include the construction of a 3.4km primary runway for large commercial aircraft and, the installation of runway lighting and navigational aids.

However, David Hundeyin revealed in his recent tweet on X that the port is an avenue to loot gold illegally mined from the state to Dubia.

“It’s to facilitate export of illegally mined gold to Dubai using falsified paperwork and private jets with transponders switched off, where it will become effectively untraceable.

“There, I’ve saved you years of hard-scratching. That’s what the airport will be used for.,” he tweeted.
